are we one of the saved human being in the earth?? lol

after browsing and reading some articles about the Mayan's hype, i found my self in confusion between believing it or not.
yet this issue is striking us today.

it is said that the earth will start a new era and civilization after 21-12-2012.
if we go and do further flashback analysis about the elder civilization, it is a logical hypothesis. the earth will start a new era such as what had happen after the ice age. it means that not all human being will be devastated in this world.
but my big question is... are we one of the saved human being who will continue and start the new civilization.
this issue makes me realize and contemplate about what the human had done to 'Our home'. a peer of mine said that he won't pity to the earth but people who are digging up their own grave.
now, let me ask one more question. is it too late for people to save the earth???
